Aging-in-place decisions are too important to get wrong. Here is how we research, write, and review, so you can judge our work for yourself.

How we research and write

Every factual claim is tied to an authoritative source, and we link it so you can check it yourself. We rely on primary sources: the CDC, Medicare.gov and CMS, the National Institute on Aging, the VA, and CareScout for cost data. We do not invent statistics, studies, or prices. When a figure needs to be confirmed for your parent's specific situation, we say so rather than guess.

How we review products

ElderHearth is not a hands-on testing lab, and we never pretend to be. We evaluate products by checking each provider's own pricing page, drawing on independent hands-on testing where it exists (always cited), and stating the limits honestly, including what the marketing leaves out. Prices and features change often, so we note when a figure is firm versus reported, and we always point you to the provider's own site to confirm before you buy.

We tell you when a product has real drawbacks, when it is not worth the money, and when a company hides its prices. That honesty sometimes costs us a sale. We think it is the only way to earn your trust.

ElderHearth is written by a small independent editorial team. We are not doctors, nurses, or financial advisors, and we never claim credentials we do not have. What we offer is careful research paired with authoritative sources, written plainly for the families who need it. Read more on our About page.

A note on medical and financial topics

Much of what we cover touches health and money. We write to inform, not to replace a professional. For medical questions we cite bodies like the National Institute on Aging and Mayo Clinic and point you to your parent's doctor; for financial and insurance decisions we point you to a fee-only planner or your free state SHIP counselor. ElderHearth offers general information, not medical, legal, or financial advice.
